Can we calculate by weight, cutting length or per piece?
Yes. PM QuoteFlow works with the basis that fits your parts – weight, cutting length, machining time or piece. In most companies several bases run in parallel, because a laser-cut sheet is costed differently from a turned part. Your rates stay yours; the tool only applies them consistently.
Does QuoteFlow work with our drawings and CAD formats?
It reads the usual formats from PDF drawings to common 3D data. Where a drawing is unclear, the tool says so instead of guessing. We start with a set of your own past quotes so that the results match the way your company has always calculated.
How long does an Odoo implementation take in a metalworking company?
A first productive stage is normally live in three to four months: quoting, orders, warehouse and invoicing. Machine scheduling, quality documentation and costing follow in further stages. You work productively with the system long before everything is finished.
Can Odoo replace our existing ERP, or does it run alongside?
Both are possible. Many companies replace an ageing system step by step, others start with quoting and production and keep their accounting for a while. We connect what stays and migrate what goes – with your data, not with a fresh start.
How do material certificates and heat numbers get into the system?
They are attached to the goods receipt and travel with the material into the order. Suppliers can deliver them as PDF or by interface; in the workshop they are assigned by scan. The certificate therefore hangs on the finished part without anyone filing anything.
Can we connect our machines and shop floor terminals?
Yes. Time recording, terminals, measuring equipment and machine data can be connected – either through the native interfaces or through a central data platform. What matters is that the shop floor books data where the work happens, not on a form in the office.
What does an Odoo project cost in metalworking?
Projects for mid-sized manufacturers usually start in the mid five-figure range including licences, implementation and training. The number of connected machines and systems drives the price, not the number of users. After a workshop you get a fixed price for the first stage.
Who looks after the system once it is live?
We do, for as long as you want us to. Support, updates and further development come from the same team that implemented the system. Many customers take over day-to-day administration themselves after a year and keep us for development work.
Where is the data hosted?
In data centres in Germany or the EU, with a data processing agreement in accordance with the GDPR. Odoo is open source: you can take the database and the code with you at any time and move to another provider.
Can we start small and grow later?
That is the way we recommend. Start with the part that hurts most – usually quoting – and add production, quality and costing once the first stage runs. Odoo is modular, so you pay for what you actually use.
