Frequently asked questions about the Odoo blog
Who is the Odoo blog for?
For managing directors and IT leads in mid-sized companies who are introducing Odoo or already running it. We write from practice rather than from the vendor brochure – about the points that actually hurt in a project.
How often do new articles appear?
Usually several times a month, plus whenever there is an occasion: Odoo releases, security updates and events such as Odoo Experience.
Where does the information on new Odoo versions come from?
From the official release notes, from the partner channel as an Odoo Ready Partner, and from our own testing. Where something is still unconfirmed, we say so.
What is the difference between Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premise?
Odoo Online is the hosted standard with limited customisability, Odoo.sh is the platform for your own code with staging, on-premise gives full control with full operational responsibility. Which fits depends on how much you customise.
How often do I need to plan an Odoo upgrade?
Odoo releases a new major version every year and maintains LTS versions for three years. Plan an upgrade at least every two to three years – the less custom code, the cheaper it gets.
Does Odoo replace my CRM or do I also need HubSpot?
Odoo CRM is enough for structured sales along the order process. As soon as marketing automation, lead scoring and content take centre stage, HubSpot is the stronger choice – and the two integrate cleanly.
Does the blog cover industry solutions as well?
Yes. Odoo's vertical modules and our own industry solutions such as CircuFlow for the circular economy are regular topics.
Can I suggest topics?
Please do. Tell us through the contact form which question is occupying you in your project – many articles started exactly that way.
Do the articles replace consulting?
No. They help you sort through the options. Which one is right for your company depends on your processes, your data situation and your budget.
Where do I find the other topics from PixelMechanics?
In the digitalisation blog with all articles, in the AI knowledge section and in the whitepapers available for download.
